In light of International Women’s Day, I just have to talk about one of the most badass women I know: Mackenzie Wilson.
Mackenzie (aka, Miss Mackenzie to her students) is a special education teacher for Wallingford Public Schools. Not only is she a superhero in the school’s classroom, ensuring her students get what they educationally need to thrive, she is also a 2nd-degree (soon to be 3rd-degree) black belt instructor at Barans Kenpo Karate, in Wallingford, CT, and one of the leaders of their SWAT team.
According to the staff at Barans Studio – “Miss Mackenzie has been a force to be reckoned with since age four. Her passion for teaching is obvious, and majoring in Education gives her an even better understanding of her students.”
Mackenzie is a master at weapons, her favorite being the kamas, and most recently taught a class on them.
Look how BADASS she looks! I call this expectation vs reality!
Mackenzie thrives on training her students to be not just physically, but mentally strong. She is the epitome of strength, power, courage, and, most importantly, ROLE MODEL to all girls and women everywhere. SUCCESS. RESPECT. INTEGRITY.
You can do anything you put your mind to if you respect and are honest with yourself.
